I am fascinated by doors, which is why I enjoy using them as canvases. I paint the door with patterns where rhythm and color take center stage. I paint with pigments and acrylic binder to ensure it is weather-resistant.
In Nijmegen, I had the opportunity to transform a garden shed by painting its door. This assignment allowed me to dive deeper into my fascination with shapes, rhythm, and color, inspired by artists like Studio GDB and Freelingwaters.
As I applied brushstrokes, the door became a canvas where I expressed my own interpretation of shapes and colors.
I found the size of the door pleasant to work with, and the ability to paint both sides connects two spaces. One side hides the other, allowing for two completely different styles to be applied.

Ik ben gefascineerd door deuren, daarom gebruik ik ze graag als canvas voor mijn schilderingen. In de schilderingen staan ritme en kleur centraal. Ik schilder met pigmenten en acrylbinder om ervoor te zorgen dat het weerbestendig is.
In Nijmegen kreeg ik de kans om een tuinschuur te transformeren door de deur te schilderen. Door deze opdracht kon ik dieper in gaan op mijn fascinatie voor vormen, ritme en kleur, geïnspireerd door kunstenaars zoals Studio GDB en Freelingwaters.
Ik vind de grootte van de deur prettig om mee te werken. Ik vind het interessant dat de deur twee ruimtes met elkaar verbind maar allebei de zeiden niet tegelijkertijd te zien zijn, hierdoor kan beide kanten een eigen stijl en kleurenpalet krijgen.
